This was the most fun Halloween EVER because it was the first year I haven't been stuck in an office. I am SOOOO thankful I was able to actually enjoy every little event with both of my children this year.
All of the fun started off with Brady's first field trip to the pumpkin patch. It was also my first time being able to go on the field trip --YAY! The not so fun part was the weather. Oh my gracious, it was FREEZING! We didn't let a little chilliness get in the way of our fun.
We went on a hay ride and then Brady picked out his pumpkin. He didn't understand why he couldn't grab an extra pumpkin for Kelsey. So sweet!
We got to pet and feed all of the cute farm animals. They had some of the prettiest cows. As you can see, all the kiddos loved brushing the goats hair. :)
Mr. Cute Stuff!
All of the kids immediately gravitate to the TWO huge slides. Brady patiently waited in line but he sure did look like he enjoyed himself.
so many activities for the kids!
Lunch time with my buddies!
Here they are! Love this picture.
Next up is Brady's Halloween Party treats for his buddies at school.
He got the biggest kick out of these Monster Eyes and had so much fun with them.
I wanted to use Reese's peanut butter cups because they are my favorite but his classroom is peanut free so we went with Rolos.
We bought some adhesive googly eyes and stuck them on. Put them in a snack size baggie and stapled the topper. Easy peasy.
Kelsey's treats were next! This girl LOVES some candy corn so when I came across this idea, I knew she would love it. I was at her class party and she was so proud of them. All the kids loved their rotten pumpkin teeth. :)
Our final project was booing our neighbors. Ever heard of it? It's very simple. There are many 'You've Been Boo'd' signs all over blogland. I printed it off, filled a basket with treats, dropped it off on someone's door step, ring the doorbell and RUN!
The other side of the sign says "We've Been Boo'd" and they are supposed to hang it on their front door for everyone to see then they are supposed to pass it on.
The kids had the best time putting this together and they loved being sneaky, lol. The neatest part was seeing the signs on the front doors of our neighbors. Even more neat was on Halloween night, we saw a different neighbor with the sign on their door. How cool to see it catch on!
We carved pumpkins for the first time. I was surprised to learn that it was also Jay's first time carving pumpkins. I roasted the pumpkin seeds and the kids gobbled them up!
This is from Brady's Halloween Party at school. He dressed up as Iron Man.
So cute! I love that they only have six kids in his class.
This is the night of the Hoedown at our wonderful church. Wonder Woman shed quite a few tears because she didn't want to wear a long sleeved shirt. :) There was also the dilemma of who to be for Halloween. Kelsey wanted to be Ariel and begged Brady to dress up as her Prince Charming. He was set on being Iron Man (and later changed to Capt. America) so Kelsey gave in and decided to dress up as Wonder Woman (mommy's favorite). I guess Kelsey decided matching her brother was more important. CUTE! :)
Mucho slides and bouncies at the Hoedown.
Brady's buddy, Emma. They are so cute together.
Kelsey found out Yancy was going to sing and my girl got front row for her favorite super star!
More bounce house fun with friends.
Group shot: Hope, Will, Brady and Kelsey (well done, Jay!)
This cracks me up. So, I guess they had a little too much fun at the Hoedown. :)
The next day was Halloween and we had so much fun planned!
Brady's friend from school, Jack, invited everyone over to decorate cookies. I wish I had a picture because there were 3 Captain Americas at Jack's house. Will, Brady and Jack! Funny.
Then, we went home to meet more friends at our house for dinner and trick or treat together.
Captain America and Ariel are ready to get some candy!
It was such a FUN night. We just love Halloween and all the fun activities that go along with it.
