Kelsey and Brady had a joint birthday party this year at a local gymnastics place. We celebrated it a little early for Brady (will be 4 yrs old) and a little late for Kelsey (6 yrs old). It wasn't exactly what I had originally planned but things happen and for a last minute party: it was perfect!
The kids were kept pretty busy the entire time so it was pretty entertaining to watch!
I loved being able to sit back and enjoy watching all the kids have so much fun together! No whining or crying here!
The birthday boy and girl were pulled up really high TWICE and, let me tell you, this was the highlight for just about everyone! Even before the party began, Kelsey and Brady knew they would get an extra turn on this and couldn't stop talking about it. No fear! It was neat to see all the kids get excited about this activity.

Off to the party room for some pizza...
Precious little Sophie cracked me up! Yum Yum! :)
This year both kiddos wanted me to bake each their own chocolate birthday cake. Unfortunately, things happen (more on that in a later blog post) and I couldn't do that (broke my heart) but they both loved picking out their own chocolate birthday cake at the store. We couldn't forget the princess and Spiderman candles either. :)
Meanwhile, all our friends chowed down on some mini cupcake pops! Remember ice cream push pops as a kid? So FUN with cupcakes and anything mini just tastes better--haha!
Yep, the birthday boy and girl had to have one, too!
Even though the party wasn't exactly what was planned, I still had to throw in some special touches. Kelsey and Brady had watched me design and create the cupcake pop labels and putting them together the night before just made them even more excited. I think they turned out great and they were so proud of them (love that)!

Kelsey and Brady had watched me design and create the cupcake pop labels and putting them together the night before just made them even more excited. I think they turned out great and they were so proud of them (love that)!Instead of using water bottle labels this year, I just covered them with decorative tape. So easy and such an inexpensive way to dress them up!
Kelsey and Brady were also VERY anxious about their party favors. They helped me pick them out and assemble them (they just love being involved). We created a Make Your Own Play Dough favor. We tried out the recipe earlier in the summer with kool-aid and the kids really had a great time making it so I thought why not make it a favor. I had seen other play dough recipes but loved this one with kool-aid. The kool-aid makes it smell yummy and colors it without using food coloring. So neat! Besides, what kid doesn't love play dough?
