Summer Break Comes to an End!

Most of you know that I decided to quit my full-time job and stay home with my kids. {applause} It was a decision we prayed about for years. We really buckled down and planned for it. Our prayers were answered when my last day at work was Kelsey's last day of school. I am doing some work from home and I am so thankful to have worked out an incredible arrangement with my employers. It really is the best of both worlds. With that being said, we were all really and truly able to enjoy our summer break. I am so sad it is quickly coming to an end but I find mucho comfort in knowing this has been the BEST SUMMER E.V.E.R. :)

Our summer has been filled with lots (and I mean, LOTS) of fun play dates with friends. We have been to the Discovery Center, friend's houses, Movies Under the Stars, movie theaters, cookouts galore, farmers market, sleepovers, park, POOL, POOL and POOL!
This is a collage when we saw a magician at the library. It was super fun!
That isn't even all of it. Just about everyday we have been out of the house doing something fun with the kids. <----LOVE IT!

A local blog created a huge list of all sorts of free, fun activities and we were able to take advantage of them! A favorite was Dairy Day--we had no idea what to expect but it was a huge hit! They had all sorts of fun crafts and games for the kids. They gave away free milk and ice cream. We even took a fun hay ride at the end. We'll definitely go back next year. :)

You may be wondering, well if you had so much fun then where are all the pictures? {since I seem to document everything with pictures} Well, our super fun Fourth of July weekend getaway to Lake Winnie with dear friends ended with losing our camera. We lost pictures of our kiddos having a blast on roller coasters--so sad!
We also had so much fun doing the Butterfly Garden and I took some amazing pictures of the caterpillars emerging as butterflies. {sorry for the bad camera phone pic}Gone. :( It's alright though...I needed wanted a new camera anyways. haha!

One of my favorite moments this summer was watching Kelsey progress in the pool. I really felt like she was so behind and I blamed myself for that. We started our summer having to wear arm floaties and a belly float. She was so fearful. Now she takes off without any floaties and is doing flips in the pool. She still isn't swimming but her confidence is finally there and I know, it will happen when she's ready. We love going to the pool!

I can't believe that my sweet daughter is starting 1st grade on Wednesday. You know what that means...new blog post coming very soon. *tear*
