Family Vacation: Parte Dos {Playa del Carmen}

We had loads of fun in our private pool but we also had a whole lot of fun at the hotel's pools and beaches. They had one in particular the kids (and adults) really enjoyed because it had an awesome water slide. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of it but that's okay. I doubt we'll forget it because the kids are still talking about it!
When we checked into our resort, I told them Jay's birthday was on 5/31. They offered to make him a cake and have it delivered to our room. They asked if he would prefer white or chocolate. Anne said, "ooooh! what about tres leches?" Tres Leches cakes (three milk cake) are the cakes of Mexico. Um, yes, Jay would really prefer tres leches if you can. wink wink!
We all really enjoyed it for breakfast! :) If only I could get that recipe. Perfecto!
Our resort offered complimentary boat tours around the property. It was so neat to see all the different animals and even an alligator or two.
We went into town that night for a nice dinner and celebrated Jay's birthday.
After dinner, Mamaw (Anne's sweet mother) paid a mariachi band to sing Feliz Cumpleaños to Jay! *excuse the blurriness*
We also did a little shopping! Brady and Griffin flipped out over these Batman masks with attached cape.
Kelsey just had to get Lanie a sombrero. Cute stuff!
As for the adults, we all got a huge deal for massages. Wayyyy cheaper than the resort and back home! I think it was $40 for 2 people and it was 1 hour long. NICE!

Yeah, I think Jay had a pretty spectacular birthday, right? :)

We really loved our stay at the Fairmont but we were pretty excited to see what the Rosewood had in store for us.
Adios, Fairmont.
Next up: Rosewood Mayakoba
