Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Brady got all bundled up to go outside in the snow with Daddy. Kelsey and I stayed in the house because she's had an ear infection and we didn't want to get her out in the cold.

He was SOOOOO excited!!!!

Brady and Jay had to get us 8 cups of snow!!!
Kelsey and I made some yummy Snow Cream!!!!

We are definitely enjoying our lazy weekend, cooped up in the house and being forced to sit down and relax for a while...something that we rarely get to do! I must admit that I am looking forward to a warm, spring day!!!

What do you do when everything is closed because of the snow and ice?

They had fun making a mess and I had fun watching them! Oh and the bath water was ready for them when they were finished! :)

Now, we are spending the rest of our beautiful snow day in our jammers! :)

Zing Zang Zoom!

We met up with our good friends, the Johnson Family, at the C I R C U S!!!! The kids were super duper excited to come back again this year.

We decided to make the pre-show this year. They allow everyone to go down on the main floor and basically have a "meet and greet" with the performers and some of the animals.

Kelsey loved looking at the clowns but she didn't want to do anything with them except watch them. On the other hand, Brady was all about them! He walked right up to a couple of them, waved high, posed for pictures and even gave them a couple of fist bumps and high fives. lol

I thought he was going to take this clown's skateboard and run off with it.

Samantha just soaked it all in! This was her (and Steve's) first circus so she really didn't know what to think of it all.



She really did enjoy it...I mean, who doesn't enjoy a circus, right? A little confession, Jay and I went to the circus before we even had kids. So funny now when I think about it. :)

We enjoyed lots of popcorn and monster size lollipops....

A little tip: pick up a big sucker or other candy at the store beforehand! We totally forgot to do it this time. Sigh!

We saw zebras, dogs, tigers, elephants...

and they even had two crazy women shoot out of a cannon simultaneously!!!

Brady's favorite was the tigers. He kept saying "RRRROARRRR!!!!"

Kelsey's favorite was the elephants! They were pretty fun to watch!

We were so glad that the Johnson family was able to go with us! Love them.

My kids are already talking about going again next year! :)

Family Pictures: Fall 2009

So, I'm a little late in posting these but better late than never, right?

We met up with Laurel from Eilas Photography at Centennial Park in Nashville in October. Kelsey is 4 and Brady just turned 2.

It was a beautiful fall day and we had so much fun. Kelsey LOVED the camera. It was hilarious to watch her strike a pose for Laurel. I'm really happy with these pictures. Laurel did a fantastic job and was an absolute pleasure to work with! Our shoot was on Sunday and I had the cds in my mailbox on Tuesday! Seriously, who does that? Amazing! Love her!

A Day to Remember: Christmas 2009

This Christmas was definitely the most memorable so far. This was the year that Kelsey really got it and Brady was soooo cute. The anticipation and excitement for Kelsey made it the most fun.

We let the kids open up one gift on Christmas Eve. It was a gift that they picked out for each other. Going shopping for the other sibling (and not themselves) was a lot more fun for them than I thought it would be. I took Brady shopping to pick out a toy for Kelsey. We looked at the Barbies and Polly Pockets but he went straight to this little puppy dog that came with a purse. She's really cute, she barks and he just knew she would love it.

Jay took Kelsey shopping for Brady. I thought we might have some tears...I mean, take a kid to a toy store and not buy anything for themselves--torture, right? She really surprised us. She loved the whole idea of picking something out just for Brady (and knowing he was doing the same for her helped HAHA!). Kelsey knows how much he loves Diego so she went straight for a wooden Diego helicopter. They both absolutely loved their gifts and got so excited when they exchanged them. :) It was complete with hugs and kisses. I love that sibling love!!!

Christmas Day:
I think I was just as excited as she was for Santa! I was so excited that I couldn't sleep. I kept waking up afraid that I was going to miss "the moment." I wanted to see her face light up when she saw that Santa really did come.
At about 5am, I got up and went to lay on the couch so that I could make sure I wouldn't miss the special moment. It was funny because at about 730am, Kelsey finally woke up and saw me on the couch. She whispered to me, "Mommy, did Santa come to visit and um, why are you sleeping on the couch?" She was so confused but then quickly realized that she had to go potty. It worked out because it gave me enough time to turn on a light so I could record that 1st reaction. Also, now she likes to tell everyone that Mommy slept on the couch on Christmas. Lovely. :)






Brady was SO cute! Santa got him a cute little workshop but he walked right past it and went straight for the balls that goes to the t-ball set. Ha!

We all had a wonderful Christmas and can only imagine how much fun next year will be. I'm sure it will only get better and better.
